Having arrived at Phoenix, via Royal Sun Alliance and Resolution, you could say I've been well schooled. Following 5 years of study I qualified as an actuary in 2006 and quickly realised the need to adapt to the different challenges and opportunities presented, as the business continues to change and transform from year to year. Right now, I manage the Stochastic team, comprising a number of senior actuarial students whose role is to model the business based on realistic assumptions, in order to meet the requirements set out by the FSA. All in all, if you take into account the professional atmosphere and superb working location, then combine it with genuine support, great training and the undoubted potential for progression - you could say that life at Phoenix really does offer the best of both worlds.
